25th September, we arrive at Rockford to the sounds of chain-saws.  This Event is 12 years in the making and it is getting better each year.  The theme for this year was, "Entrenchments, 1944", if your camp didn't have some sort of hole in it, then you weren't at Rockford. The weather was perfect, the electricity was in the air, and a lot of things just made sense, it was a good Weekend!

The mix of Allied and Axis units made a good balance, from the U.S Army, to the British and Commonwealth to the Polis, Russians, Italians, Germans and the Home-Front impressions along with the large variety of Armored and soft skin Vehicles to the Horse Mounted units and the bicycles was very impressive.

This year we had a mix of Battles in the woods, the main field and the Village.  There was a dance held Saturday night at the Museum, a much better venue then the Barn, and the Dance was very well attended.

There are a lot of good Events in the Mid-West, but in the opinion of this writer, Rockford is THE event of the year.
