21 October 2018, WWI Subway Museum Day Brooklyn, NY

Join the only WWI reenactor living history event in vintage New York City train cars. This event is inside the landmarked New York Transit Museum with classic wooden cars that were on the tracks when the Doughboys fought in WWI. We will have living history, exhibitions, reenacting, and a phonograph playing century-old music from Michael Cumella (http://michaelcumella.com/phonographdj/index.html).

Housed underground in an authentic 1936 subway station in Downtown Brooklyn, the Transit Museum’s working platform level spans a full city block, and is home to a rotating selection of twenty vintage subway and elevated cars dating back to 1907.

The East Coast Doughboys will be set up by two vintage wooden cars:
BRT Brooklyn Union Elevated Car Number 1407 (1907)
BMT Q Car Number 1612C (1908, rebuilt 1938)

The event is Sunday, October 21, 2018. Set up and photo sessions are 10:00-11:00am, the public enters 11:00am. Lunch will be provided. We will end by 4:00pm.

All WWI impressions are welcome. All WWI era civilian impressions are invited.

Street parking is available. The Transit Museum is located in a decommissioned subway station at 99 Schermerhorn Street Brooklyn, NY 11201, and accessible by over 20 bus and subway lines. The entrance to the Museum is down two flights of stairs. A second, wheelchair-accessible entrance is located on the corner of Schermerhorn and Court Streets. Info: http://www.nytransitmuseum.org/

This event is sponsored by the WWI Centennial Committee for New York City, New York Transit Museum, and the East Coast Doughboys.

If you have questions post them in the comments section.
