4 November 2017, Outskirts of Isigny, El Dorado, KS

Fellow Reenactors,

This is the first announcement for "Outskirts of Isigny," a public battle reenactment to be held on Saturday, November 04 in El Dorado, KS.  The detailed information for this event is below.

Who:  The battle is put on by the WWII Reenacting Corps.  Safety and authenticity checks will be performed by Unit Commanders of the Corps prior to the battle.  Axis Commander: Lt. Erik Runge.  Allied Commander: 2d Lt. Michael Kepley

What: "Outskirts of Isigny" Public Battle.  1944 ETO impressions.  French Resistance and 1944 French Civilians welcome!

When: Friday setup (optional) 1:30 pm through 5 pm.  If you have a public display or campsite (both are encouraged and welcome), you can set it up on Friday night.  Gates will be locked and your stuff will be safe through the night.  The event takes place Saturday 04 November 2015.  Battle Walk-Through: 1000  Parade at 1100.  Battle Review at 1200.  Weapons and Uniform Demonstration: 1300.  Public Battle: 1330.  (Times subject to change).

Where:  Kansas Oil Museum (383 E Central Ave, El Dorado, KS 67042)

Every year, we have hundreds of spectators and expect it to continue to grow.  As in years past, we use professional pyrotechnic explosions.  Motorcycles, jeeps and other light vehicles are allowed.  Gates will be open at 8 am.  Public displays and campsites are encouraged!  If your you or your unit would like display space, contact Lt. Erik Runge.

I'm currently working on getting a handful of K98 and Garand blank ammo for each reenactor, some gas money for those traveling in from long distance and some food for the reenactors - these items aren't guaranteed yet, but I'm trying to make it happen.

I will send out another email or two as the event nears with more information as it becomes available.

If you or your unit plans to attend, please contact Lt. Erik Runge at wwiirc@ wwiihistorycenter.org.

Please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested.

For more information, check out the website or our Facebook Event.

We look forward to seeing you on November 04!

Erik Runge
