In order to expand the hobby further into new areas of impressions and events , I am proud to announce the formation of the first ever Chinese reenacting group , the 8th Route Army.  The unit will do both nationalist and communist impressions.  Thanks to the work of Honk Kong Keith , the uniforms are now available and other gear will be made by unit members.

While this is a bold new step into the future of the hobby , we hope this is just a door opening into several themed events.  The first planned event is a “rescue the Doolittle Raider event planned for August , where an aircrew will be dropped randomly at locations , and the Japanese and Chinese reenactors will try to rescue them.  We will use a point total system , and there will be random objects put on the battlefield to be collected as booty.  The location and time of the event will be announced at a later date.  We are hoping with enough members present over time , we could eventually start reenacting the nationalist- communist struggles after the war at unit training events.

The 8th Route Army already has a few members , and we are working out all of the details.  We are still working out an awards system , but the biggest honor of any unit member , once appointed to general officer , will the creation of a chicken dish named in their honor.

If you are interested in joining the Chinese hordes , contact us at 8throutearmy@ yahoo.com and we will get back to you.

To: Long Duk Wong,

Could the WW II Chinese impressions be used for Korea?  There are a few U.S. korean War re-enactors which for the most part are Parade and Living History static display only types. it would be a lot of fun if we had some Chinese re-enactors for targets.  Chinese Military History and uniforms and equipment are un-known to me.  papajoad
