There was a company in St. Louis called HyVac Plastics owned by Herb Hyman, civilian government employee who was charged with the responsibility of camoflaging installations on the Hawaian Islands, just like this example.

He told me he had over 100 women working for him crafting special camo nets and other materials to make buildings into something they were not during the war.

Herb was a cool guy. His company is no more and I know not where he is.
