5th Kompanie GrossDeutschland is conjunction with the HRS and the Lockport Township Park District is sponsoring a major Public Battle Reenactment on the scale of Lowell and Rockford on September 10, 11, 2011 at Dellwood Park in Lockport, Illinois. This will be a annual event.
 
The event site has excellent amenities which include excellent campsite locations; huge battlefield area in which the Park District will dig emplacements; flush toilet facilities, free showers; period vendors and food vendors.
 
The site is located just outside Lockport Historic Illinois Michigan Canal central business district and is being supported by the Citie's business community, VFW and American Legion Post which are both located within a few miles of the Dellwood Park reenactment site.
 
The event schedule will include two battles on both Saturday and Sunday, skirmish scenarios, uniform and weapons demonstrations and USO show with a live Band Saturday evening.
 
All Period Combat and Civilian Impressions are welcome. Period Amour and vehicle are allowed at the site which has an extensive trail network.

Monitor this website for future updates to the reenactor scheulde and site facilitiy photographs and specific unit campsite locations.

Just a reminder that the first annual Rockford Days WWII Public battle reenactment will be held September 9,10,11 2011 at Dellwood Park in Lockport, Illinois. The event is hosted by the Lockport Township Park District and 5th Kompanie GrossDeutschland. The event is replacing a Civil War Battle reenactment which was held at the site for the last 20 years. It is the Park District intent that WWII event last as along.
 
The event will provide the reenactors free, showers, firewood , excellent camp locations and two public battle reenactment both on Saturday and Sunday. This year the event will include amour, aircraft flyovers, a free USO show, pre-constructed dug battlefield positions as well as a Park District Run Beer Garden for the spectators and which will provide free lemonade to the reenactors during the course of the event.
 
Preregistration is required for those planning to attend the event, this can be performed on the event website located at www.lockportwwii.com

This year the event will include amour, (the 5th Amoured Division Sexton will take on tyhe 9th SS Tiger tank) aircraft flyovers, a free USO show, pre-constructed dug battlefield positions as well as a Park District Run Beer Garden for the spectators and which will provide free lemonade to the reenactors during the course of the event.

> This event is open to all Reenactors associated with a recognized umbrella organization, and all WWII era military and Civilain impressions. The Theme for the event is the "March into Germany" The Time frame is Septemeber 1944 the allied forces have just breached the Siegfried line and are pushing the German back. The battle Scenairo will depict a engagment outside of Aachen Germany at a small crossroad interesction that is being controled by German forces. Two public battle reenactments will be held each day both on Saturday and Sunday. Since this is the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attack we will be holding a Special closing cermony honoring first responders and the victims of the attack at the conculsion of the battle reenactment on Sunday.

We expect to have over 150 reenactors involved for this first time event. Please come out and support this first time event and take part in a reenactment that is sure to grow into one of the largest in the Midwest.
