5  General Category / The Mess Hall / What did Santa bring? on: December 25, 2012, 06:20:36 PM

Ok, what did Santa (or whatever magical non-person) bring you for the holidays?

I'll go first.

I got 3 near-perfect 20-round Thompson mags (from the wife!), an original 1970 printing of "Battles with Model Soldiers" by Donald Featherstone and 7 different books of the Ramage series (from my son!) and 2 A. A. Milne books from my Mom that I have not seen for over 50 years that were given to me by my late grandparents. Wow!

It was a good day.  Grin

The 2nd Ranger website is showing that the River Battle is scheduled for the 1st weekend in December and I got an email from the 2nd Ranger commander that the event is on.

So, who's planning on going?

If the weather doesn't hit blizzard conditions I'm planning on attending.

13  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Fixables vs. Un-Fixables on: January 16, 2012, 05:28:59 AM

Oh, I understand fully what you're saying.  I have no problem with a female doing a male impression, IF she goes 100% (or as close as possible) to hiding her "Fem-look" before hitting the field at a tactical.  My wife has been doing this since 1994 and has fooled people into thinking she's just a pudgy GI. In fact she kissed me once in the field and several German reenactors were wondering WTF was going on...  Grin

When she does Soviet she doesn't bother trying to hide it.  Wink

14  Events List: North American Theater of Operations / 7th Service Command / Re: 13-15 January 2012, Battle of the Bulge, Camp Clark, Nevada, MO on: January 07, 2012, 06:22:41 AM

Only 1 week to go before this great event happens!

CCYDNE is planning to attend with a number of interesting items to hopefully entice reenactors to part with their hard-earned cash!   Wink

I personally hope the weather stays decent so we have a big turn-out!  My Thompson hungers for German targets!   Grin

Hope to see everyone there!

15  Events List: North American Theater of Operations / WW II Ostfront Events / Re: 16-18 March 2012, Battle of Bohemia & Moravia, Macon, MO on: January 04, 2012, 05:48:58 AM
Which area of the three are you going to use?  These three areas don't connect you know.

And if you're going to use the one with the deeeeep lake be very careful.  There is a 5-ton army truck down on the bottom that the guard never decided to retrieve (because the lake is a former rock quarry that flooded years ago.

The best area is the one just west of the Macon armory, BTW.
