20  Events List: North American Theater of Operations / 8th Service Command / Re: 15-17 February 2019, Crossing the Moselle - The Battle of Metz, Waxahachie, TX on: January 12, 2019, 09:22:22 PM
A high quality, campaigner style, immersion tactical event taking place in February of 2019. The overarching theme is the fighting in the Alsace-Lorraine region south of the city of Metz, where the 5th Infantry Division of Patton's Third Army fought tooth and nail with the 17th SS Panzergrenadier division 'Gotz Von Berlichingen' in the fall of 1944.

Throw out all preconceived notions you have of tactical events as it is - this is not what you are expecting.

This is not the typical 9am-2pm and call it quits tactical

This event seeks to immerse participants in the drudgery of the fighting on the outskirts of Metz in November of 1944. There is no win-or-lose scenario in this event - you will live and fight for mere meters in the cold forests along the Moselle River. Communications lines, full medical system, regular supply runs, all centered along an active frontline throughout the weekend. You will participate in the so-called mundane aspects of soldier's duties during their daily lives on the front and 'enjoy the suck' of being in a cold, wet, and miserable place far from home. In tandem, the event seeks to provide exciting and historically versed combat scenarios.

In true campaigner style, there will be no impressions allowed that were not historically involved in the setting we are emulating.

For Germans
- 17th SS GVB - Panzergrenadier Regiment 38th
 - 21st Panzer Division - 125th Panzergrenadier regiment

For GIs - 5th Infantry Division,11th infantry regiment,

As previously elaborated the event is for those truly dedicated to creating an authentic atmosphere. That means no scheduled lunch breaks, modern coolers, folding chairs, heaters, modern tents, and ect.

Those who refuse to abide by authenticity standards, simply will not be allowed into the event.

195 Kimbels Rd, Hawley, PA 18428-8001, United States

After the humiliating debacle of the previous winter, UN Forces are back on the attack in Korea. With the eyes of the press diverted, GIs and Marines of IX Corps grind over the endless mountains towards Chuncheon unremarked by the world. Burned out and ragged from the winter fighting, Communist troops trade space for time, slowly drawing their foes into a deadly trap.

This Korean War tactical pits attacking UN troops against defending North Koreans in 10 acres of private land in the rugged and beautiful Poconos region of Pennsylvania, reminiscent of the wilder parts of the Korean Peninsula.

DATES: May 3-5, 2019.

-Registration fee TBD based on event costs.
-There will be TWO working parties in March and April to prepare the site for fighting. This includes clearing deadwood, building fortifications, etc. REGISTRATION FEE WILL BE WAIVED FOR ANYONE WHO PARTICIPATES IN A WORKING PARTY. Dates TBA.

Full immersion, half immersion and Battle, full Battle. They do require M35 uniform tops. The 3rd Guards are not the hosts. Please see the host site at the Facebook Group Page "Stalingrad Factory Event Ohio". They can answer specific questions about the event.
